Postal worker makes my day

A few weeks back, I went shopping for a few outfits for my boys, and decided to get one to send to New Mexico to my 7 mo old nephew. Today, we finally got around to taking it to the post office to send.

I had both boys with me, and plopped them up on the counter while the clerk determined the cost for shipping. Logan mentioned that he loved Star Wars, and the clerk told us that he had Star Wars stamps. KEWL!

At the end, he asked if there was anything else he could help us with - so I said "Got any Shrek stamps?". He thought , and said that there may be some coming out in October. Double kewl!

As we concluded business, and I lowered the boys off of the counter, the clerk said "Ya know, the world need more dads like that."

I was floored. Hadn't really done anything out of the ordinary, but another guy saw that as wonderful. I thought a second and responded "I needed a dad like that."

He half smiled and said "Man, I know what you mean. Me too".

Elementary, My dear Dr Watson

It's late, but I GOTTA share this.
I've recently put a few new video making programs on my computer. I've also installed some neat photo editing software programs. Somewhere along the line, I messed up, and it caused a very bad problem.
After I take pictures, I remove the sd card from the camera, and place it in an "egg" ( a usb card reader). It's been so much easier to just copy and paste the pics/vids, than to go thru the tedious process of connecting the camera to the computer, and dealign with upload software.

Anyways, for the last 2 days, whenever I've tried to copy and paste data from the sd card, my computer jams. Then I get the "Dr Watson's debugger has found a problem" (or something like that). I can view pictures and videos that are already on the computer, but cannot upload new from the sd card.

THEN, I noticed that after opening ANY folder on the computer (that contained avi files), I would get an error that said:
Installation at 0x03c415b referrenced memory at 0x00000000, and it could not be read.
Like Im supposed to knwo what the hell that means. I ran registry checkers, and startup managers, and nothing helped.

FINALLY, I came across a webpage that offered a working solution (so far) .

The solution was:
Run regedit and find the following key :- HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.avi\shellex\PropertyHandler
Delete the "Default" value then close.
You should now be able to see .avi previews almost instantly but without the crashes

So far, so good (although only about 15 minutes of opening and closing various folders.

Boring shit for anyone whose system is running perfect, but invaluable info for anyone having the same problem I was. Transfering pics and vids of the kids is 75 % of what I have a computer for. (for the nosey, the other 15% is porn and the remaining is for making music cds and reading about other peoples lives thru blogs). Ohh, and let's NOT forget about Ebay!

Fall of Falwell - oh well

Just saw that Jerry Falwell has kicked the ol' bucket. Hope he has to pay for perverting the mind of good Christians like he did. What he ought to have got on tv to say was "Put your money back in your own pocket - just be good and love God".

Anyone to bottles and tries to sell God should be ashamed. People are dumb enough as it is - but dangle heaven in front of poor people, and you get even poorer people with false hope.

Refelctions

I Love this pic - it the reflections from the center hubcap on a Fire Engine. The local Rec center had a "Touch A Truck" day, where various trucks were opened up for little ones to climb in and out of.
