Another aikido problem
While Im on a roll - let me tell you what a piece of shit I think that Rev Furyura is. I've been in his Yahoo group for about a year and a half. In that time, we've all had ot listen to his whiney self pity "I feel sorry for me" crap about how he wished he had gotten married and had a family, but the art and the dojo demanded so much out of him. Boohoo.
Talk about aikido being an elitist martial art for know it alls - this list took the cake. People (mostly Furyura himself) bitched about people "trying out" different dojos. In his mind (and everyone on this psycotic list), once you picked a dojo, you shoudl dedicate yourself entirely to it. Any other training shoudl be forbiden, as you owe the teacher your dedication. The teach is supposed to have the utmost responsibility and respect, in that they knwo what it best for you, and you shoudl not question it.
In a word - bullshit! What fantasy land dojo is this asswipe teaching in? And don't even try to mention "dojo fees", cause he gets his panties all in a bunch. We get banter about how it's not proper to ask him about rates - as there are others who are in charge of that. Like he's some friggin aiki saint, and is trying to pull a Saegant Shultz about all that dough he's rakign in.
The final straw was when he went on a rant about people "dojo hoping". Meaning, not sticking with HIM. I posted a well thought out note about how even "traditional ways" were not "traditional" at some point in history. Basically, don't bitch about how American culture is so different from how old Japanese culture used to be. Specially when you are asking people for money. If he was givin it away - by all means, rant on. But when you are charging people a high fee- don't bitch when they comparison shop.
He goes friggin nuts, and posts a message about how much "crap " there is on the internet, and how he wishes there was a way to "flush away all the shit that doesn't deserve to be there, or be spoken by people who are ignorant". Shortly after,(that same day) I was booted from the group.

Sounds like you're better off however I know how it must suck to be booted or in the midst of such foolishness as you experienced in the Dojo. And what is up with his "Dojo hopping" bother. Dojo isn't a cult or anything for crying out loud. And if anything the leader should know and encourage peeps to find a Dojo that suits their needs. Whether it be a stronger training on a certain disclipine or art that your spirit is requiring.
I'm with you on peeps finding your blog. Some of my customers had and others that I know here in Savannah. I've been getting this, "Oh my Heavens Margie! I thought you were the sweet, quiet and settled down type."
But they keep coming back either out of sick curiousity or entertainment. Who knows. Work with it and never loose touch of who you are. You're allowed to have thoughts, emotions and a place to voice them. Truth have it, I bet many of those you thought were sneering at you weren't because they felt the same way at times. The only difference is that you display the balls and will to say what you feel.
That's healthy and really not an Aikido Problem. Some of us would call it focused and the ability to discern where the air is fresh or where bullshit reeks. =O)

Ok Mike, I'll just stick with the "House" styled "say what I feel".
Party pooper....
